Invoices/Document Templates Not Generating (On Premise)

This article will show you how to fix an issue that you may be having with On-Premise installations of HoudiniEsq where invoices and document templates are not being created or displaying. Note: if you are specifically having problems with invoices, try enabling pop-ups in your browser first.

Here are the specific instructions for each operating system (Windows or OS X):

Windows

  1. Log in to the PC which is acting as the HoudiniEsq server (the one you have HoudiniEsq installed on). If you are a solo user it will likely be your own. If not, you may have to ask your network administrator for access to the machine, or have them perform the next steps.
  2. Download and unzip the following file: Houdini-HDX-PC. The Zip contains a file called “hdx.Houdini.hsdl”. This is the platform-specific configuration file for HoudiniEsq.
  3. Navigate to the following directory in your File Explorer: C:\Program Files (x86)\HoudiniESQ\webapps\houdini\esb\config\xml. Warning: do not modify any of the files in this directory other than the ones we specify.
  4. Replace the “hdx.Houdini.hsdl” file in the “xml” folder with the one from the ZIP file above.
  5. Stop and start the HoudiniEsq service.
  6. Log into HoudiniEsq and generate an invoice or template.
