IRIS stands for Information Repository Indexing Server.
If you are trying to open a document and you see login screen pop up, you are being asked for your IRIS password. This is NOT the password you use to log into HoudiniEsq from the main login screen.
IRIS Username
- The IRIS username is simply ‘iris‘, no single-quotes.
IRIS Password
- For on-premise users your IRIS password is what you set up to be when you installed. It is the SECOND password you defined during installation.
- If you are using HoudiniEsq in the Cloud (SaaS) the IRIS password was sent to you when your Cloud account of HoudiniEsq was setup. Look for the email that states your instance URL, your user password, and your iris password. It will have been sent to the email address of the person who signed up for the account.
I forgot my IRIS Password
On-premise
- If you forgot it you can look here on the HoudiniEsq host machine (the computer HoudiniEsq is installed on).
- Go to the HoudiniEsq root folder, then conf – HoudiniESQ\conf
- Open the tomcat.xml file with a text editor (textedit, notepad, wordpad)
- Look for the line that says
<user username=”iris” password=”irispassword” roles=”iris”/>
The “irispassword” is the value you want to change. Be sure and leave the double quotes around the intended password fully intact.
- Restart the HoudiniEsq service. Use the password in the tomcat-users.xml file as your IRIS password.
SaaS
- If you are using HoudiniEsq in the Cloud the IRIS password was sent to you when your Cloud account of HoudiniEsq was setup. Look for the email that states your instance URL, your user password, and your iris password. It will have been sent to the email address of the person who signed up for the account.
- If you can’t find that email call us so we can verify your identity and we will give it to you (Note – you must be able to verify you are with the firm).
